Does anyone know if it is easy to convert this to all TB drives? I read some where that all the drives need to be the same. (Maybe that was not true)

You can change all of the drives into TB drives and it will make it into shadow copies of everything some funky RAID-like-but-you-can't-call-it-RAID system that works really well as you add discs to the system. It gives you the connector discs (so you can attach your computers to the Windows Home Server) and a server restore disc.

The WHS system is pretty cool and flexible. Plus there are plenty of hacks and such that you can do with it. Try HomeServerHacks.com [homeserverhacks.com], they have some pretty cool things that you will never have thought of doing with your HomeServer!

Ive replaced the main drive with 1 tb drive. It comes with install media for your client pc and does the OS restore on the new drive over network.
this raid but not raid youre talking about is Folder Duplication where it will mirror folders across drives so that if one drive goes, you can restore data from another drive
Also the drives configuration doesnt have to be homogenous, you can put any size drives in the WHS server and the software will determine how much free space you have left and take folder duplication into consideration.

p.s. this is a very good deal. In other threads people paid that much AFTER live search cashback which was questionable because of use of Coupons and HP EPP

I purchased a EX470 as part of the earlier HP deal, but it's going back tomorrow. The fan on the power supply is far too loud for my taste, as I'm using the MediaSmart in a home office environment. Add to that, it appears the current EX470/EX475 models are set to be discontinued by the end of the year, with new models rumored to be announced during CES 2009.
