WA state salvage title question |

I just went through this when we moved here. Took my car to the inspection place only to be told I don't have to get the inspection done until next year as they only test them every other year and do it by the year the vehicle was made. Mine was a 2000.

If the title is still "salvage" then most likely you will have to get it inspected. If it was previously a salvage title and has since been registered it probably has a "rebuilt" title or whatever they may call it there and it should transfer without any problem.
Either way an inspection is no big deal but you should know as much as possible as to what was done to repair the car. |

Tell me about it. I couldn't find it on the website until just now. It was under the FAQ page, rather than the link that tells you what you'll need for the inspection. Go figure. The website must be done by the same people who decide where to put up signs on the highway.
![]() Looks like you'll have to do it, since it's a title transfer.

Agreed, typically all salvage title cars have to be inspected before they can be retitled, if it's on a rebuilt or other classification you may be able to bypass until the next inspection date, depending on the area. |
