It is showing $1,899.96 + Free Shipping from Amazon, same price it has been for a while. To get it for :$1,798.98 you are buying from Vanns - which does not do white glove delivery on TVs (through Amazon they say). In any case, I have ordered from Vanns before without any problems. That is a nice, large (very large) set .Dennis |

What is everyone's thought on this vs a plasma (Panasonic or Samsung)? Obviously about half the price, 3-4 times as thick, and probably not nearly as bright. Hard to imagine a 67-72" tv like this! My room is 20x25 or so.

You need to sit at least 7.5 to 8 feet away from the front of the screen or it will be way too big. Should be plenty bright, maybe not as much as an LCD, but should be fine. Plasma is not has bright (max light output) as an LCD screen. The biggest issue is vertical viewing angle is pretty narrow. If you have "stadium seating" in your home theater this is not for you. If you want to be able to see the picture while seated or standing this is not for you. Dennis |

well, i had this TV (and loved it) and got upgraded to Samsung's series 7 63" plasma after 6 weeks when my 67" DLP flaked out and they didn't have any more in stock to give me as a replacement...btw, this was all done through Samsung's standard mfg warranty...i didn't purchase any type of extended plan at all.
now, to compare a DLP directly to a plasma is kind of silly b/c the plasmas are much brighter throughout the picture and the clarity is amazing, but...that being said, this series 7 DLP line from Samsung is 100% worth the money. if you have the $5k, then i'd recommend the 63" Sammy plasma, but dollar for dollar, this DLP can't be beat...i absolutely LOVED it when i had it and my friend bought one as well and he loves it too. btw, the issue i had was that my green LED was pulsating after the TV was on for 10-15 minutes or so creating a pink/purple tone throughout. Samsung sent a local repair guy out who replaced ~90% of the guts and the same problem started again a few hours later. Samsung would have gladly given me a new 67" if they any in stock at the time, but did the right thing and offered me their next highest model since there was no ETA on the DLP. yes, i know i got very lucky in getting the 63", but that just speaks to Samsung's customer service and how good they are at making the customer happy. sturmie EDIT: the viewing angle on the 67" was top notch for a DLP IMO...how often do you really watch a TV other than straight on? I have been waiting for a deal on this DLP. All the local retailers have it for $2400 for $1798 with no tax or shipping this is a great deal.

I have the 61" purchased from Amazon a few months ago. The colors and brightness are excellent. So far no issues except for very rare soundclicks once in a while. Nothing to impede the quality of audio/video experience.

I bought the 61" LED model and I couldn't be happier.(1799 - 10% at BB) This is the best picture I have seen on any TV. 67 is going to be HUGE though. I sit 12 feet back from the 61 and i find myself pushing my head into the chair trying to get further back.
Also realize that this is the absolute top end TV for DLP. I have a feeling the prices will go down even more if the stores have stocks of these left in a month or two. |

Just ordered the 47" Philips 1080p 120Hz LCD deal from buy.com for the living room and now this?....Need to control myself! I've been waiting a deal for this DLP for months and now contemplating. I saw it at BB and I agree with earlier poster that it's best to view it at eye level straight on. If you view it at an angle you will lose the brightness/clearness and I believe it's inherent with all projection TV. But viewing straight on it's amazing! Can this TV be viewed comfortable sitting about 9-10 feet away? I've read that it's too big for some and fine for others....It's hard to tell at the store because of the wide area. I hate to get the 61" and find that it can get bigger or worse get the 67" and find that it's too big for the eye....any suggestions?
