I believe this is for new accounts only.

I always wondered how these checking accounts work with ATM's and doing deposits. Isn't it a pain in the neck since everything is virtual?

I have had an electric orange account for almost a year and I think its great, especially when linked to my ING savings accounts. As for ATM, they have a lot of ATM that have no surcharge, but even for the ones that do ING doesn't charge ATM fees.

Deposits...I have a chase checking account that I use to deposit checks, then transfer the money into ING. You can send them into ING as well.

do you have to enter reference code: EODVR? or is that just your reference code to get a bonus?

no it has its pros and cons. you get a hella better APR at 2.75% compared to your normal local bank at .35% . you get free ATMs at all "ALLPOINT" which are basically the ones used in Walgreens, CVS, etc. I just decided to open one for the free $50 dollar. no direct deposit needed

had to call them to add the promotional code: EODVR, since I forgot to add it earlier. The guy was chill and told me it is 3 signature based so you have to tell them its a "credit" purchase.

Any way to get this to work if I already have an ingdirect account (not the checking, just the savings)?

Ufbdirect is currently the best online banking to be had...Their traveler's saving account gets you American Airlines points as well as 4% APY.

Just in case anyone wants to know, Electronic Orange applications do a hard pull.
Also overdraft protection is mandatory for the acct, so if you have bad credit, your app could be declined.
