Elf on the Shelf Storybook and Elf $17 + tax at Hallmark B&M YMMV - normally $29.99

My MIL bought this for us. DD isn't swayed by it at all. Kind of creepy looking although it is a cute idea.

My 6 yr old loves this!!!! Great gift idea.

My boys love this book and our elf "Melvin". That is a great price, I'm going to go look for gifts.

Still $29.99 at my Hallmark.

Just a little more info that may help. At my Hallmark there were red signs throughout the store that said 40% off select items. I saw the Elf on the Shelf at one display near the front of the store, but there was no sign marking 40% off. Then as I was wandering the store, I noticed another shelf in the middle of the store with a 40% off sign and the Elf on the Shelf there. On those books they were marked to the $17.97 price.

I initially looked at the books at the front and though oh darn, they're not on sale (cause I've been looking for this at a decent price - not $30) - then I found the other stack.

Just a note - this item is different than the Elf on the Shelf set. The initial set comes with the Elf's book that tells you about the elf, and it comes with the elf. The activity book, above, is an additional book you can buy that provides different activities to do with your elf.
