alot of people must have done the CC deal with 46" Z series with HTS and returned the HTS to make the TV 940.00 which was a ymmv but alot of people got it to work...so i guess 940.00 for a 46" Z series was kinda hard to beat.

Yeah, but too bad like the OP I need either the Z or XBR6 40 inch to fit my space. It is either of those or do a generic 37". It is THAT small

If you are going to go for an XBR model of sony you want a bigger set so that you can see the results of your efforts. 40 inch is too small to worry about the quality of the screen. Yes a 120 is great to have, but most of us do not even notice the difference between a 1080 versus 720 picture in the size of screen. So paying that much (and it is) in the current market and economy is both wasteful and (sorry) stupid!

All retailers are trying to max their (profits)(money in)(revenue) due to the stupidty of people who must buy a big ticket item just before Xmas. They bring out the very best (biggest screen, 65) or the best models (XBRs) charging top dollar, just to maximize their revenue. This season is different inthat there isn't a lot of takers. Sony sold a lot of electronic just to maximize their revenues for that Oct 31 ending cycle (desperate).

AFTER Xmas we are going to see a lot of better sales. Period.

There is very little difference between the Z series and XBR. The speakers come to mind. I'll update when I find the other.

I think I read on AVS that the viewing angle is a bit better on the XBR.

XBR is a better TV , high contrast ratio compare to the Z... But i want a 46", was thinking about tring the CC deal but my car is too small to haul the TV and the huge HTS... so i passed it up and now kinda wish i should have just strapped the TV on the hood or something. LOL
