Pioneer Kuro 50" [bestbuy.com] (PDP-5020FD) for $2199 (MSRP $3500) at Best Buy starting 1/18/09. Pic from ad scan below.

Also can use 10% movers coupon found here bringing total to $2199 - 10% ($220) = $1980 + tax which is the lowest I've seen for this tv. I was planning on getting it, but got me a 52xbr6 for $1570. If I had room, I would still get this tv. Some will say YMMV on the coupon but I've always gotten it to work on sale items. If you do not plan on using the coupon, buy now and pick up on sale date or you can pick up now and go in next week for price adjustment. BB CSR's will not apply the coupon when you do price adjustments, coupon only applied at point of sale.

UPDATE:Was just in store today and my friend who works there said the Elite 50" also on sale and its price is $2800!!!! This was at BB in Secaucus, NJ. He said 10% coupon scans making net price $2520 + tax (from MSRP of $4500). This is going to be YMMV on the price as website still showing $4500. He did say they sold 10 this week and they are on order with earliest delivery in mid-February.

CC had a package where the tv rang up for $2050 and then they gave me 5% off and then another 10% at pickup with a coupon but they didnt ring it right and took off an additional 10%

its possible, but they may say the free blu ray was part of a package. Depending on how the package rings up also. If blu ray comes up as $0, then you should be ok, but generally I think the blu ray will stay regular price and they'll prob lower the price of the tv to make it a package.
