This site would encourage cheating. As a teacher I disagree with this sites purpose.

I agree with you - I can already see how much additional work this will create for instructors.

However, the site owner sounds like his intent is good. He even has a way for universities or instructors to ban their material.

Here is his version:

Quote :
Hello, and welcome to PostYourTest.com. My name is Demir, and I am a graduate of Saint Louis University's MIS Program. I am an inventor at heart, and am always trying to find solutions to problems.

One day of my junior year I was walking along campus worrying about a test I just took, when I came across two students talking about a test that they took a few days back. One said to the other "Hey, if I didn't have access to older tests to study from, I would not have gotten a B on it." The other student agreed. When I heard that, I thought that it was unfair for some to have access to previous tests while others don't. I had to always study hard, and I would have appreciated professors' previous tests to reference so that I could not only get a feel for how a professor tests, but also for how difficult this class is going to be.

Time went on and I kept thinking about it. After a while I also realized that not only could this be a great tool to help students prepare for classes and exams, but it could also be a great tool for professors to create higher quality course material! I did a little research and found out that although a few universities had test archiving at their libraries, there was no world or country-wide test archive. After learning the ins-and-outs of a CMS and putting in months of hard work, PostYourTest.com was created.

I'm sure I will get a lot of questions about the morality of PostYourTest.com. I want people to understand that this website is a tool for education and not a tool for cheating, and I do not advocate cheating in any way.

The only positive about this is that when people post old tests, it just adds to study material for students in the future. They can gauge how the professor asks questions, etc.
