Some time back, I bought a Viewsonic 19" for cheap and it came labeled as an Optiquest which I guess is a lower tier Viewsonic product. In any case, the Optiquest paled in comparison with my 20" Dell. And this is not even a side by side test but just viewing full screen pictures from one upstairs PC after viewing the same pics on another PC downstairs.

My lesson learned is to do compare specs and not just go with price alone.

what is the opinion on this Viewsonic for $220 or the Acer p241 at Staples for $280+10filler-75Coupon ($225 net)

Any other input on this deal? I'm looking at my gal's coupon book here and wondering if this is worth it. I haven't been following prices on 24 inch monitors, but it seems like 22's are the better bang for your buck at the moment.

Stupid question here...If my Directv Hd box has HDMI output(which it does)...can I use this for a HDTV? Pretty sure I can, but just checking.

Nevermind: found my answer....looks like I can as long as the monitor is HDCP compliant, which this one says it is.

I can't find one review on this monitor. Construction specs are low end (TN panel, yuck, and no height adjustment). And most places, including Amazon and Buy, are out of stock. All signs point to it not being worth much more than the sale price. However, based on superficial specs alone, you get a lot for your $$.
