I have this same problem with the same HD. I think the eSATA port on the HD might not be deep enough for most eSATA cables - or at least that's my speculation based on stuff I googled.

I would love to figure this out, I actually came to this thread to post the same issue I was having. Does anyone else have this issue with this drive?
