Bay Area Renaissance Festival Discount Tickets (Tampa, FL)
This thread is basically for people who live in or near Tampa, FL and are interested in going to the Bay Area Renaissance Festival.
The Bay Area Renaissance Festival is the longest and largest Renaissance Festival in Florida. I used to think they were kinda hokey, but after going a couple years ago and having a fun time, we've been to it ever since. It's a great time for adults and kids.
More information is available at: http://renaissancefest .com/bay-area.htm
It's at the MOSI every weekend from Feb 21st - Apr 5th from 10AM-6PM.
I posted a thread a week or so ago with a discount code for printing tickets for this online ($1-$4 off depending on when you get the tickets) using a corporate discount code. But I found a better deal today at PETCO today.
General Admission at the gate is normally $16.95 per person. Even if you get them online using the discount code, you still pay $12.95+$1.25=$14.20. But inside local PETCOs they have $3 off General Admission ticket coupons, as well as a free ticket to bring your pet (normally $10) on March 7 & 8. Since the online ticketing system charges $1.25/ticket transaction fee, this PETCO discount actually saves you $0.25 more per ticket as well as allowing you to bring your dog to the festival for free on March 7 & 8. But, it gets better. According to the website, if you bring 4 cans of food to their food drive during the first three weekends, you get BOGO on adult admission. So, let's say you and three family members go with a pet. With two $3 off coupons, 8 cans of food, and the free pet coupon, you can save a lot:
Person 1 - $16.95 - $3 = $13.95
Person 2 - Free
Person 3 - $16.95 - $3 = $13.95
Person 4 - Free
Dog - Free
Total Cost: $27.90 (for 4 people and a dog)
Total Savings: $16.95x2 + $3x2 + $10 = $49.90!
Not to bad.
Remember, you need one $3 off coupon per paying person, plus the free pet ticket is separate. You may want to call you local PETCOs to see if they have them. But I live in Sarasota, FL which is about 45mins away, and they had them here, so I imagine they have them all over this area.
