Bright House $35/mo for High Speed Internet and Basic Cable for one year (poss. YMMV)
Hi, all!
Long time reader, first time poster so please be kind, and I apologize in advance if I messed anything up. Tried to search for this already; couldn't find it.
Saw this deal on TV the other day about $9.95 for basic cable (Channels 2 thru ~20), and found link yesterday:
http://www.cfl.mybrighthouse.com/...ition.aspx
We currently have basic cable (about $25/mo) and Internet (about $40/mo). Total about $65/mo.
Called Bright House at (866) 313-4263 and asked Courtney about it; she said the promotion will only last till April and only applies to new customers (meant for those using rabbit ears and no cable). Since I have been a Bright House customer in the past 12 months, I don't qualify.
Wife and I called back; I asked to cancel cable and Internet access in order to transfer to wife's name, and asked about the DTV promotion. We also asked if they have any promotions regarding Internet access. Since she isn't a Bright House customer, she got an offer for $34.95/mo for the first 12 months. After taxes and/or fees, total is $37.95.
The CSR told us that everything was set and there would be no interruption of service, but since the cable modem was leased equipment, I would have to return it and wife would get a new one. (Not bad considering I've had this one for about five years.)
If they send someone out to swap the equipment, we would be charged a fee, so we agreed to stop by today to swap ourselves. Went to Bright House's office to swap, pre-paid one month, and signed up for automatic billing.
The unused portion of my final month's payment will arrive as a check in 3-6 weeks.
After 12 months, the price would go back to the normal sixty-something per month.
Edited based on feedback: This applies to Orlando/Melbourne in Florida. Basic cable only; no digital channels. The promo is meant to allow people using rabbit ears to get hooked up to cable so they can continue to use their TVs. $34.95 includes basic cable and 7Mbps Internet only.
Please let me know if I need to edit anything.
Thanks!
