Just got mine. Very nice. Quality build. TGI assembled in Knoxville on a Hungarian FEG, stamped Made in Hungary. My 30 round magazines swap in and out with no problem.

BTW. Back in stock as of now again but $25 price increase to $549.00.

AK's are fun

You may want to call AIM Surplus and verify what you ordered. I spoke with them today and these are the Tennessee Gun manufactured AMD-65s that they're selling which is a U.S. made receiver and not a Hungarian. The gentleman I spoke with today stated they had run out of those models a while back. From my understanding the TN Guns AMD-65 is a quality build as well but YMMV.

Also in order to be 922(r) compliant you will have to use a U.S. made magazine. Currently the only 20 round US mag is made by Promag, for what it's worth. Classic Arms has stated the following regarding the 30 round US magazines (they're currently selling the same model):

THE ONLY CRITICISM ON THESE RIFLES I HAVE EVER HEARD IS THAT 30 ROUND MAGS ARE A LITTLE DIFFICULT TO INSTALL OR EXTRACT DUE TO THE FORWARD PISTOL GRIP, HOWEVER, I JUST DIDN'T FIND THAT TO BE A MAJOR PROBLEM. ALTHOUGH THE CLEARANCE WAS A LITTLE TIGHT I EASILY INSTALLED AND EXTRACTED THE 30 RD MAG YOU SEE IN THE PHOTO.

Maybe they send it in pieces. So you can have a gun stock sent to your house, but not the entire gun assembled.

All I can say is if I were a thief, I'd run like hell if I saw somebody brandishing an AK-47. That being said, I would run like hell if they were brandishing any type gun. Semi-automatic rifles are purchased for fun and some larger game hunting(I think?). I heard Ted Nugent on Gun Talk last weekend talking about how he never has as much fun as when he's shooting his silenced MP5. Obviously not a home defense gun, but I'm sure it's a hoot to shoot.
