wow. lowest I've seen recently. Amazon seems to really want to get rid of these; it's had quite a few "sales" on the G9's lately, but this is certainly a decent price drop.

This is the best price I've seen since last summer. I needed one in a hurry and paid full retail back in July. Since then I've been waiting for a good price on another one.

but seriously this mouse is ugly.
looks almost as bad as microsft's side winder imo

but its logitech, i don't doubt their preformance,
i have a g3, and ive dropped it about a dozen times in the pass year,
logitech has great quality

lol i would buy this mouse anyway cuz its under my hand, i won't notice it,
but i have another g3 as incase i break my current one, so i don't need it.

These will be on sale for a while...there is a newer G9x version, so they are probably trying to get rid of the older ones.

The G9x costs $100 and has 5000dpi. This costs $40 and has 3200dpi. Besides from that, everything else is the same. I think I'll go with the $40

This is the same exact mouse as the g9x. Just the DPI is different. I been using this mouse now for 18 months and all I can say is WOW! If you are a heavy gamer you will love this mouse. Comes with 2 different grips. I like the wider grip due to the rubber feel of it and it fits my hand perfect for gamming. I will say this, It will take a little to get use to, but trust me when ya do get use to it no other mouse feels the same.

it's not just about pure DPI...there's polling rate, the measure of how much acceleration the mouse can take before it drops frames, etc.

there was a study released a few years ago where someone compared a bunch of mice and found that the newer Razer mice had problems with quick accelerations (the type you may need in an FPS, for example). IIRC, the old Logitech MX500 ended up doing really well! can't find it but it was pretty popular and "controversial" for debunking the superiority of Razer's Copperhead mouse (flagship at the time). I think the G5 did fairly well,

It's ok; I'm selling mine on fleabay since I like my Microsoft sidewinder better that I got for $26+s/h at ewiz.com.
Comfortably w/ hand in my opinion is 6/10. Speed is 9/10.

Oooo, so tempting. After 3 years the wheel on my G5 is acting a bit glitchy, switching weapons when it shouldn't... It's still otherwise great, so...must...resist...slick...deal... Actually, that mail in rebate kinda ruins it lol

I own one, love it, and will probably get another one. The wheel is setable to be smooth flowing or clicky. The profile [logitech.com] (led colors, dpi, number of levels) is massively configurable per executable. So HalfLife2 starts, the LEDs turn red and the dpi is super fast. Photoshop starts, the LEDs change to green and the dpi is slow. Or you can manually change the profile using a button underneath.

The G9x improvements over this one is the max dpi set to 5000 and the mouse's "heal" has a viewable window for a custom picture. This sale G9 is 3200 dpi. There may be other benefits but I haven't seen them listed.
