Regardless, I'm going with the 3 handset one for $29 instead since this one is OOS for instore pickup and the other one is in stock. Might as well put the money toward another handset instead of shipping.

for me its $30 with tax and shipping and based on review over internet I will pass on this. Would love to spend $30 more to get a phone with clear reception and voice quality.

If you count the intercom, then you can just buy two sets. The extra one from the main unit will most likely work. Just use it as a charging station. I'm in for one more.. Going today to get it... Hmm.. i might just get two additional sets instead of one. What if I don't want to use the other intercom? Just replace it with a handset!

I don't blame you for choosing a three-handset phone instead. If I lived less than 500 miles from a Frys, I might do the same. Actually I ordered three and plan to sell the extra base units on eBay. That isn't for everyone, either.

Regarding this being a repost... the repost criteria in the thread rules sticky aren't particularly specific. Because the other post was from a discount that happened about two weeks (or more) ago and because no one had posted the change in price on the other thread before I posted, this is probably not a repost. The mods might disagree with me. PM one and we'll see.

I found the other thread, but only because I was making sure I wasn't making a repost and searched the model number. Back when it was $37 shipped it sounded like a rather cool deal to me. $27 shipped sounds pretty good.

sorry, I called repost because it was linking/referencing the same post made by joesmud here http://forums.slickdeals.net/show...ht=ge+dect. The new model number you have now linked/referenced is a different model without the intercom, thanks for pointing that difference out and sorry if I didn't see it when I called repost, but I honestly thought it was. Didn't see the post you referred to a couple weeks ago, so that was definitely not my motivation.

New question: would this phone setup here combine with the other model w/ intercom (that I bought) to add extra handsets? Can anyone attest to the range of this phone system? Do additional handsets link in a daisy chain to extend range or is a handset's range limited by the distance to the main base?
