Some1 had posted this bad boy before but the price just dropped another $15 in price... sure glad I waited a lil while longer.

I then bought ONE XD9 and I was so impressed with it in one years time I have swapped out all four glocks for a comparable XD and I could not be happier. Well unless I can get ahold of a G3 or M1A Socom II

They don't just swap mags, there are actually specific packages from the manufacturer that include the low-cap mags. That means they'll probably only offer that California-legal kit when the official low-cap package comes in. There's no telling what the price will be.

The grip angle is very different. It's interesting you say that the 19 fit your small hands well, because a lot of people don't like the bulkiness of the Glock grips.

Grip is a little different angle wise compared to a Glock 19 and the ambi mag release is nice for this model.

If you need a cheap yet reliable gun, this isn't the best price I have seen it at, but it will be better than your local gunshops.

Lowest I have seen for sale is $399 for 4" package before tax/shipping on gunbroker.com. I bought one and didn't care too much for it so sold it back for that price to someone on ARFCOM.

I would say this is an excellent starter gun.

1. 9mm ammunition (cost effective yet still very useful)
2. Reliable as Glocks (that's what I read from XDTalk, not personal experience as I only have like 150rds out of this gun before I sold mine)
3. Light weight and future proof (in case you decide to carry or use for simple Stock model competitions
4. Grip safety (trigger safety is great for Glocks, but I always feel that beginner shooters may need more safety features after watching some guy shoot his foot while he was holstering his Glock. Easily avoidable if you are all around a safe guy, but I don't know you and I know average Americans...so just consider this as FYI)
5. Package (one selling point of XD is that it is beginner ready with the whole pack. You can upgrade later as needed)

You could do worse, but I haven't had any issues with any of my Springfields thus far. Granted I only have experience with XD 9 4", EMP, TRP and Socom II.
