Don't know what to tell you about seller reputability, but www.urlhasbeenblocked.com has the refurbished WNR834B on sale for $19.99 (but they are charging an additional $13-18+ for shipping, which totally kills the deal. Sorry about the false alarm.
Note: the link to this product through pricewatch clearly stated that this refurbished router was selling for $19.99 with free shipping. However, I received this response from urlhasbeenblocked today (those bastages). Oh well, yet another good reason to stick with Newegg.

I remember seeing it reported before. Don't know if it's a common problem or if there's a fix, but it's pretty consistent with mine.

This is a 2.4GHz wireless-G MIMO router. The WNDR3300 is a dual-band router with two separate wireless radios. One radio is roughly equivalent to this WNR834B's wireless-G, the other radio is 2.4 AND 5 GHz capable. Either router is a fantastic bargain as a refurb especially with free shipping. It really depends on whether your laptop(s) are 5 GHz capable. I used three of these routers with DD-WRT for almost a year with absolutely NO problems whatsoever. I updated to the WNDR3300 and 5 GHz when the wireless-G spectrum became ridiculously crowded in my neighborhood.

If your laptops/netbooks use a mini-PCIe socket for the wireless card, you can purchase OEM Intel 4965AGN cards from buy.com [buy.com] for $35.20 with free shipping to upgrade them to 5GHz. FYI: IBM and HP laptops

typically have a BIOS locked down to prevent this kind of simple and inexpensive upgrade.

In fact Vorlon Fog has written about this happening several times on these forums. If it's the same problem he's mentioned, it has to do with a crappy a/c adapter that gets shipped with these refurbs. He's posted a link to the postings on dd-wrt as well as a direct link to an alternate adapter that works as a great replacement.

One other thing, I noticed that if I set both routers to the same SSID that I get disconnects, but as soon as I set them up with their own SSIDs they remained connected and stable (I used to be able to set them to the same SSID when I used a Buffalo whr-g125 as the 2nd router). I haven't been running the bridge all the time though, I only turn on the 2nd router when I'm using the htpc in my living room.

Shipping cost is coming up $13.xx for me too. However, this page at pricewatch clearly states free shipping. Wonder what that's all about?
