Looked like a front page deal, but the reviews are somewhat concerning. Lots of bad boards in this set. Get a squaretrade warranty if you buy this set. Great price for a budget 37". Nice set for a bedroom or basement.

Pretty good reviews, looks like a good alternative if WalMart sells out of the Sanyo.

I'm looking for an inexpensive 32"-37" LCD for the bedroom.....my Wife is sick of being forced to watch her shows on our 27" CRT when the game is on. I missed out on the 32" BB for $299, but $398 for a 37" seems like a great deal even if it is a "cheap" TV.

I posted this on the Insignia board but maybe somebody here can answer my question.

Since I too noticed the high number of bad circuit boards when I read through the reviews, I'm hesitant on purchasing this even with an extended warranty because there's a concern that people are having a difficult time even getting the board replaced.

The TV has been on the market for quite awhile --a couple of years-- from what I gather. However, I noticed that Best Buy hasn't been offering it for several months and then just recently has started offering it again at this horrendous price drop.

My question is does anybody think that they somehow retrofitted the new stock with a new board that might be more reliable? ...and that is the reason for the new offering?

At $398, it might be worth taking the chance but I'm just curious if anybody knows anything.

I have a 32 inch insignia myself i bought last year march, and im not that happy with it. I get some weird problems with it, like random channels causing my tv to go black and white, and just general weirdness. I'd say its a good deal for a 37 inch, considering mine was the same price back then, but, its a cheap tv, because, its a cheap tv.. lol

Crap TV but that's a pretty damn good price. Thumbs up.

my buddy has an insignia 32 inch that we bought for him 2 years ago. Still going strong.

Just to let you know, Insignia's now come with a 2yr warranty and loaner TV while its getting fixed.

Maybe if your lucky they will recall it 3 years down the road due to bad manufacturing like they just did with my wife's 26 " Insignia that she got for a xmas present 3 years ago. We got $500 BB gift card for returning it. Slickest deal ever!

We got in on the 32" Dynex for $299 for the bedroom, might have to take that back and grab this set.
