Update: Price on the processor dropped $5 for Newegg.
Newegg or ZipZoomFly have a AMD Phenom II X4 955 3.2Ghz Socket AM3 CPU (Retail) for $215 with a few good combo deals available. Next best on Google Products from a non-auction site is $245 for processor alone. Thanks SP33DFR34K

Yes. It would be a tad faster stock (assuming that the unlocked cores were stable) and would presumably overclock better (if you're into that).

there's also no guarantee that the Callisto will unlock either. while many have been successful in unlocking cores there have also been a lot of people unsuccessful in unlocking their cores. if you absolutely want quadcore, just get teh 955BE.

You'll have Intel fanboys always voting this down, saying AMD is not a good product. I give thumbs up to a good deal whether or not it's an Intel or Nvidia.

I've been buying AMD processors with Nvidia GPUs for the past 7 years or so... am I weird for combining those two?
