From one of the newegg review (for those who care about jumbo frame):

When reading the manual, I discovered the jumbo frame size support for the 8 port model (the one I ordered and am reviewing) is smaller than for the 5 port model. Worse the size of the jumbo frame on my 8 port device is smaller than the largest frames on my Linkstation NAS.

As a result I have to run 7K jumbo frames instead of 9K from my Linkstations.

The 8 port TEG-S80g supports up to 9612 byte jumbo frames. The 5 port TEG-S50g supports up to 12k byte jumbo frames. I did not know this at the time of purchase.

Don't mean to TC, but I had a bad experience with Trendnet products in the past. Got a wireless router for $1 (rebate + Google money off via Buy.com). It kept dropping connections. When I called their 24/7 tech support, they had some clueless guy telling me the "real" tech support is too busy, they have to put in me line and give me a call the next day. They finally called several days later while I was at work... I ended up just throwing away the router. Maybe their products or tech support got better since then, but I will never buy another Trendnet product.

Sorry to be off-topic, but are any good resources for network debug? I have an existing Gigabit network, but my transfer speeds between PCs are around 200Mb/s (~20 MB/sec). I know hard drives will limit the speed to 40-50MB/sec, but I don't get even that. I tried NetCPS and it also gave me ~20MB/sec. I tried enabling jumbo frames, but it did not improve speeds (they actually went down to ~9MB/sec!). Thanks.
