Unless you need the x48 features the ud3p is a better board. Most x48 boards hit around 450-480fsb average. I have seen 500 on some, but it requires work most of the time

Yes it would....DDR3 is a bit more costly though, but it is really like paying ~$30 more for MUCH MUCH more performance.
