I'm trying to pronounce "strong fricking deers" in a fake Irish accent but I still can't figure out what the original words would be....

 People from Belfast talk really fast and the accent is quite different from a Dublin accent. DH still slips up from time to time on certain words. For example, towel is pronounced TUR-el.

Oh, so he was already situated in the States then. I was hoping for a romantic story like, "I went on vacation in Ireland and won him over by my beauty and he immigrated after a month."

He was living in Belfast and over on business for three weeks. We fell in love during those three weeks. Then he had to return to Belfast and was due to come back but then 9/11 happened and for a while, we weren't sure that he would be able to get back into the USA. It did delay things for a few weeks but eventually he made it back, then he had to return to Belfast to await an H1 visa. Finally he came back full time and we were married in Oct. of 2002.
