Not threadcrapping, just making sure people know. Drugstore.com description is slightly incomplete. It doesn't tell you that this is an ionic purifier. Ionic purifiers are known to emit ozone, which may aggravate asthma or serious allergies.

Those filters don't really do much for allergies, which is probably the biggest reason to get these. I've never tried this one but every review I've seen has shown that HEPA filters are much better at filtering particles.

I will never buy a hamilton beach item again though. I spend $350 on 2 HEPA models which were great and by the time I had to buy filters they stopped making them so new models can come out.
