Note that this is the 2nd gen WD 1T green drive meant for external enclosure but perfectly fine for internal use. Most of yous are familiar with WD10EACS and WD10EADS which has 32mb cache while the new one only has 8mb.

Anywhoo, this particular version of WD green drive DOES have a warranty. It is NOT 3 year. As I pointed out in my original post, WD10EAVS is meant to be used in an external enclosure. Knowing this drive is likely to be operating in a mobile environment, WD wants to limit its exposure by giving it a 1 year protection. I personally would not hesitate to buy this drive because of the warranty issue. You make your own.

The abbreviated 8mb cache however is what I think is the deal breaker for many, especially those who are more tech savvy. If you don't know what cache is and how it affects performance, then one less thing to worry about, isn't it? Ignorance is bliss.

oh they dont have the EAVS listed. its probably WD hasnt updated the warranty statement since i am pretty sure if you have one and input the serial # the warranty info will come back as 3 years
