Thread Details

I just bought a 1 red ring xbox for $45. I used the penny trick and fixed it. now... should i sell it for $125 and buy a refurb? which has a higher chance of rrod'ing again? my other 4 xbox that I sold with the penny trick has been going good for about a year now... I just have no faith in my fixed product. lol this xbox is for me...

what do u guys think? buy a refurb or keep the penny trick?

I don't know if I'd want to keep it as it could fail again at any time, but then again would a refurb still be on a warranty in case it broke?

I hope you're telling people what the status of the 360 is before you flip it on CL for $125. If not, I find it funny that you have no faith in your "product" but are willing to scam someone into buying it from you.

why dont you get rid of the pennies, reflow the xbox witha heat gun or oven, xclamp elemination mod and call it good. i did that over two years ago and my box is going without a hiccup

2 years! That is awesome.

There is a RROD fix longevity wiki in this thread.

It would be great to have you add your fixed xbox to the list.
