This has been $20 for a while now - i picked it up mid September. This series is amazing. I actually left a review up on the Amazon.com website entitled "Very well done documentary" by C.S. Huntley if you wanted to check it out. It's at the top of the current reviews on the right hand side of the product page looking at reviews on the bottom. That will tell you what i think of the product. It really is a great product for only $20.

To answer carbonfiber - this is an original Discovery channel production - so i believe it was recorded to be seen in 1080i in HD television. What's "remastered" is the older NASA material that wasn't recorded in HD (since they obviously didn't have the tech).

To add-on to your comment, but not to open the cliche can of worms on remastered content, but for those that always ask the question... often, the original content is greater resolution than 1080 lines, since it was recorded on film (sort of like comparing an old 35mm camera photo to a megapixel digital photo... depending on lens, paper, film, etc., the 35mm will scan to be equal to whatever resolution you want it to be). Granted, you will have bad remasters (just like a bad, low res scan of a photo). But in general, remastered content will still be high-def, and still look better than consumer VHS or DVD media.

I always check out this site to get a feel of the quality:

It's been sad, but the price has been low for about 4 months or more now. I bought several titles from Discovery during thier 60% off event. I passed on this one because of reviews and a friend that had it told me that you had to be a space nut to want this. I'm sure some of the visuals are stunning, but sounds like most of the disc is technical and boring to the average viewer.

That said, 4 disc B-Ray for $20 is a good deal even if it's the Beverly Hillbillies!
