I'm not sure if that's crucial to get deal.

Is the 01THX and older model of the VSX-21TXH? What's the main difference. MSRP seems to be similar.

01 is last years model, step down is 1018 and 21 is current model, step down is 1019

i think the new models get newer amp and are a lot lighter , maybe color on tv display

I said screw it w/Pioneer and just bought the 23 from Amazon (Big Value Inc) for $584 total (incl ship). Yes I know they are not an authorized dealer and the warranty implications. However, electronic items have almost never been an issue w/me ( 'cept a MSI Diamond mainboard

) knock on wood. The savings was substantial enough that I may look into a Squaretrade, if they do that sort of item. Still, regardless, I'll gamble.

Also, Pioneer returned my call a few minutes ago, they still aren't budging.
