To those who miss anti-shake or electronic image stabilizer
Deshaker plugin [guthspot.se] for virtualdub [virtualdub.org] does really great job using variety of methods. Read manual on Deshaker home page carefully. You will need crash course on virtualdub [virtualdub.org]
You will aslo need codec pack, use ffdshow [free-codecs.com] or x264vfw [sourceforge.net] or both.
You still need to shoot steady and use slow panning as this will not fix video taken while you run for example (nothing will) but deshaker has plenty of options to play with and I am sure something can be spared in extreme cases as well.
It has this option of removing shake without dropping resolution that only really expensive commercial software has - by using prior and future frames's edges.

For people who don't feel like googling. The only differences between 1st Gen and 2nd Gen Vado HD are:
1) Gen2 comes with either 4GB or 8GB internal flash. Gen 1 only has 8GB. 2) Gen2 comes in different colors. As for software, they both uses the same software/firmware. |
