I think the thing that helped both of my plasmas have exceptionally good images is that I went to this site [avsforum.com] and downloaded a set of plasma break-in slides to an SD card. There are about 20 slides total, and each slide contains an image of a single color. I ran the slides for about 120 hours while each TV was new, and I think they helped tremendously in obtaining the best possible picture. Here is a very loose paraphrase of avsforum member skroh's excellent explanation of why this is needed: When a plasma is new, it has a "settling-in" period. During this time, it's helpful to evenly expose each cell to the same amount of each color. The break-in slides give each cell this even exposure and result in an improved picture. Refer to skroh's posts #13 and #22 for a much better and more detailed explanation.
