My friend just spent a good portion of yesterday trying to find a good deal on a 46-50" set. Don't know if he just missed this one while he was at BB, or if he decided he wanted to go 1080p. Either way, I'll be passing this one along - thanks!
edit: Looks like my friend is interested. I'm trying to walk him through Bing, and...surprise! Just like yesterday's fiasco with walmart, bing absolutely refuses to work for me. Two different computers, three different operating systems, three different browsers, cleared caches/cookies/etc, and still all I can get is the login screen with the stupid "oops! our server slipped!" error. Works fine if I search for Tiger Direct, but Dell? Nooooooooooooo. Time for me to give up on Bing, I guess. Last edited by theimage13; 11-08-2009 at 06:36 AM.. |

Think of it as a Plasma HDTV, only if that will help you. A lot of us call (mistakenly?) all flat screens as an LCD. Wanted to point out that this TV is only a 720. Even though a good deal, at this size - not being a 1080 could be a major disappointment. Otherwise this is a great deal. Dell's description is as follows:
The X1 series Plasma HDTVs are ideal for sports, movies and gaming, with crisp, focused images during fast-moving scenes. The 50" Class (49.9" diagonal) VIERA X1 series Plasma 720p HDTV comes with 600Hz sub-field drive for crisp, focused images, VIERA Image Viewer for easy photo sharing, and VIERA Link to control all compatible devices with a single remote. This is 720p plasma, not 1080p.

Not saying this a bad deal - just not for me -- plus i don't like self promotion -- this is obviosuly something that a DELL marketing associate did themselves... Last edited by ghostwriter66; 11-08-2009 at 07:22 AM.. |
