Not true (for me at least).

If anything, use OFFICIAL servers (you can pick third party servers, but those tend to by real slow).

The servers are a bit slower to load than l4d1, but by no means is it unplayable.

Yep, all 5 campaigns are ready for Versus mode. Survival mode is back. And the new Scavenge mode is a great alternative to Versus since you don't need a 1hr+ time commitment to play it.

Great price on the PC version.

I think the servers are simply overloaded, you can always set the game to "local host" (only the guy who created the game can do this) and there are no problems.

Although Valve knew about the number of pre-orders, so they have no valid excuse for not having enough resources. But I can say without a doubt lag isn't an issue with the game itself.
