OCZ ModXStream Pro 500 Watt Power Supply + Cooler Master CM 690 Mid tower Computer Case $59 after $50 in rebates Next lowest on Google Products for the Power Supply is $45 after rebate, and for the Computer Case from a store which has one available for shipping is $70 = $115 after rebate for both if purchase separately. |

solid deal op!
havent found too many case+psu combos like this for under $60 shipped in a while. In fact, this is the first one I've seen since I bought my antec sonata III for the same price. THANKS! |

there are also other OCZ power supplies that can be added to the combo, like the ModXtreme 600 and 700. Of course the cost goes up. You can also get the 550W fata1ity for close to this price but you don't get the 10% off. I originally was going to get the fatal1ty ps but I don't want any lights in my PS.

Additional $13 in savings may be possible!
Looks like a good deal, although supposedly there will be 10% cashback available from Newegg starting tomorrow @ 3:00PM PST. Makes me very hesitant to jump on any Newegg deals today, esp. one like this where 10% would mean an additional $13.00 in savings (and the rebate + promo code will still be valid). And before anyone says it, I’m aware that technically BING could cancel the cashback due to the promo code. But history has shown this rarely happens w/ Newegg (has never happened to me personally despite many, many purchases).

Digging the case but reading the reviews I'm seeing a HUGE amount of complaints about no tech support and lights/fans that die quick fast.

i bought this case a couple months ago for my first comp build. It has plenty of space and has great build quality for the price.
Thumbs up! |

Hmmm ... the 5 + 5 drive options and good reviews on cooling has me thinking widows home server (media and backup) ... start with a 5 disk raid, with option for adding a second 5-drive raid later for the inevitable capacity expansion. Anyone have any thoughts along those lines? Particularly on the PS side as well? This would be my first home server build, so I'm not sure what I should be worrying about.
It's probably almost certainly better than recycling the 10-15 year old monster (but still probably less than 10 drive capacity) case and PS I have gathering dust in basement. |

GREAT deal. Case and power supply both get good reviews. 500w is plenty for most who don't plan on running two graphics cards in SLI or CrossFire, unless you want the 5970 or GTX 295 of course. However, if you are willing to spend over $600 for a graphics card, you probably shouldn't complain about the price of a good 750 watt power supply.
