in for one for 32 bucks shipped. Seems like an alright mce remote and the display seems like a neat toy. I would not have paid msrp (120) though lol

I wish this use only one bay because my "up coming" Antec Mini P180 will be my next HTPC and it only has one single available bay; one on the top and one at the lowest bottom of the case.
EDIT: In for one since this kicks ass [youtube.com]. Last edited by Iceboie; 12-01-2009 at 05:41 AM.. |

This receiver uses iMon software to function. My Antec HTPC case uses an iMon IR receiver and VFD display. The software sucks (on both Vista and Win7) and should be avoided if possible. You also cannot use the iMon receiver with Eventghost (IR Server Suite might work). Also, the display is rather worthless if you are using this as a HTPC since it is too small to read at a standard sitting distance (~10 ft).
I uninstalled the software and bought a $15 HP IR receiver from eBay and it has worked great. This is combined with a Harmony 890 and Eventghost running on the HTPC for added functionality. Good deal for the price, but I can't recommend the hardware (due to the software) at all. Last edited by bryansj; 12-01-2009 at 07:26 AM.. |

I got one to try out. For $32 it could suck and I wouldn't mind. Got the $5 off for google checkout too. good heads up on that. We'll see how it works out.

I'm in to give it a shot. Went looking for cases and I don't see any Antec HTPC cases that have 3 5-1/4" external bays (you would certainly want a DVD/Blu-Ray drive in an HTPC!). So any idea which case they intended to use this on?
I would assume an antec case would be ideal for this to match up and look it's best, but perhaps not. |
