MAN!!! I bought 2 on the Sat ad after Black Friday and 2 more the next week but all were 8mb!!

Now I have my 1tb RAID 5!!! Buahahahahah!

So I built my 1tb RAID 5 for $648.60 (tax included) - $200 (Rebates)= $448.60

It's 160-50=110 for 16M with 5 years warranty.

One thing to note, I got my e-mail notification for rebate acceptance within 2 weeks!!

I ordered the 16MB drive a couple of weeks ago and popped it in with a PCI to SATA card. The drive rocks! Highly recommended.

I heard there's really no difference between 8MB and 16MB anyway; just like SATA and SATA 3.0 because it'll never reach at those speeds.

But Outpost shipping is slow even though it states "Same day shipping".

Urr yeah, Seagate is usually fast with their rebates, but I still haven't even received my rebate notice yet. -_-

Since we're talking about B&M stores, would you folks please say which cities where you saw these prices?

The 12/21 flyer in Atlanta (sale dates 12/21-24) shows the 300GB SATA 8MB for $149.99 - 50MIR = $99.99. So I doubt Atlanta is selling the 16MB for the same price. I bought the 16MB during last week's B&M sale for $10 more.

Online at Outpost.com, the 16MB [outpost.com] is outrageously priced at $199.99 before rebate. Update 12/23: Online now showing $159.99 before rebate.

The rebate form [outpost.com] for the 8MB also shows the 16MB eligible for the same $50 rebate.

The salesperson offered me the 16MB and said it was $10 more but it wasn't - they were the same price. This was in the Woodland Hills store. She also told me it had a 1 yr warranty (it has a 5 yr warranty) while trying to sell me the extended warranty. Thanks for the online rebate link but it doesn't show the $50 rebate. The register receipt does.

that just goes to show how much fry's emp's know about anything. i heard a story where about a year ago when the ati 9800's were out some emp tried to sell a GF MX400 to somebody saying "it was the best card on the market" I'd just roll your eyes at those people and walk away with what you're getting.

Wow, nice deal. I may just have to go back to the Atlanta store to see if they're doing the same -- then I'll ask them to refund me the $10 on my purchase from last week under their "low price guarantee."

Hmm... you're right. I tried to look it up both by filling in the boxes (product/date/location) and with the rebate offer number (05-41180, from the PDF rebate form). The code for last week's sale/rebate worked for me. Perhaps Seagate hasn't updated their website yet for this current offer.

Outlook.com (argg! MS on the brain!) Outpost.com now shows $159.99 before rebate ($109.99 after) for the 16MB drive.

I picked up a pair of the 300 GB 16 MB drives at Fry's this evening at the Phoenix store. They didn't have any out front, but I had an employee check the back. I got one and wife got one. They rang up as $159.99. I tried to convince him they were $149.99 but he wouldn't even check it with his manager and he said that was for the 8 MB cache version.

Feeling less than satisfied with my attempt for a slick evening, I decided to get the FAR case. No power supply, but I have a FAR P/S laying around from Black Friday.

The 300MB, 16MB cache hard drive is now on line at outpost.com for $109 after rebate.
