Every receiver's instructions will clearly state that it will need X inches of breathing room for airflow. If your a tard and throw this in a closed entertainment center with 3 other devices, you too will write a bad review about overheating.

Of course it runs hot but not that HOT

I have this receiver for 4 days got it for 299 from Costco
and I like it. It's basic and nice. If I were you
I will wait for a nice deal on 607, I still have 90 days to return it to costco

There isn't much difference between RC160 and 607. You get 10 watts more per channel and HDMI on front. You will have to wait for some time before you will see 607 at $300.

PC Richards had this for $330 with UPA1 ipod dock which is close to $99.

This deal is good if you don't live in California. Tigerdirect's deal is cheaper after bcb if you live in california.

At Tigerdirect it's $7 more after Bing, but they're in FL, so they tax people differently. 9% of $300. Also, there's a slight hope of getting a $25 gift card, though that probably won't happen. Even if it does, it has to be spent at TD and they'll charge shipping on that.

For a California buyer
Newegg: $280 x 1.0925 = 305.90

TD: $330 x 0.875 = 288.75 (with a remote chance of -$25 = $263.75) but you have to wait months for that 0.875 to kick in.


About the 607 though... some people got it for something like that just recently i think. Something about an amazon bundle and rejecting the iPod dock. That's what's holding me back. Is just before Christmas the time for Electronics deals? It seems wrong.

Upscales to 1080i, not 1080p. And on-screen menus are mega-low-res. Annoying that they skimped on such a dinosaur technology.

I think the receiver upscale on analog inputs. So this isn't dinosaur technology..
