I have gotten the federal taxes done for free for the past few years, but never found a free state file. Please share your experiences if you used taxengine and how it compares to other efile copanies such as taxact/taxcut.

I highly recomed that you do a free Federal efile. It's easy to fill out online and in my experience you receive your refund within 7 to 14 days straight into your bank account!

I'll look into this. For the federal return, there are several paces that one can file with an AGI > 50k.

For example,

the online tax software walks you through practically everything. If you can't do your taxes with one of the free options available I suggest paying an accountant rather than looking for advice on an internet message board.
