With the free shipping, this is the cheapest I've seen online. BB.com comes out to around $85 with shipping and Fitrx is over $90 shipped. Best deal on a RTD. I use these from time to time when traveling or at the office...can't beat the convenience.
Tried all the flavors and they are all rather tasty and filling. Props for the good find OP! |

Jesus, look at the Sodium and fat content of those things... Maybe for someone not dieting or worried about such things. I'll take my TrueProtein RTD packs for 24.99 any day. No fillers, 50g protein, no fat, carbs ect.

How are the Protein Recovery Balls from the same site?

First, the Syntha 6 RTD is a premixed meal replacement shake with a well-rounded macronutrient profile. Like any other meal, you will receive a balanced amount of carbohydrates and fat that will give you the energy you need while maintaining a good diet regimen. Protein drinks or powders that have zero grams of carbs or fat are NOT meal replacements...unless you're on a strict ketogenic diet and all your meals consist of only egg whites and water (good luck keeping up with that). Second, the fat content from Syntha 6 RTD is derived from healthy fats such as High Oleic Sunflower Oil which has naturally occuring CLA. CLA naturally helps reduce body fat without stimulating the CNS (central nervous system). Also, the remaining fat comes from MCT oil (medium chain triglycerides). One example of MCT's is coconut oil, which is another beneficial fat that has a propensity to be burned off as energy rather than being stored as body fat. It's because of these good fats that give you that feeling of satiety (fullness) to help you stick to your diet and eat less throughout the day. On the contrary, RTD's that consist of only protein do not offer that feeling of fullness and leaves you feeling hungry and depleted due to the lack of other required nutrients...it's like expecting to feel full from drinking a small glass of fat free milk (and even that has some carbs in it). This is not to say there are no benefits for shakes that are mostly protein and nothing else. I personally like to take shakes like those in the evening to reduce the amount of carbohydrates I ingest before bedtime. Also, if you are a true bodybuilder and about to compete, you would want to drastically cut your carbs a couple weeks out from your show to drop the last bit of fat, but even that is very difficult to sustain. So bottom line: if you're on a crash-course diet and wanting to just drop fat fast for a trip or event, go ahead and cut out most of your carbs and fat, and drink protein shakes that consist of only protein, but if you're looking for a balanced long term solution and ready to make healthy eating a lifestyle, than this is more of a meal replacement solution you are looking for. |

I agree with the above post. I've done some competitive bb'ing and would stay away from these pre contest. As a snack or replacement meal, these things are very handy. I haven't tried the BSN version. The price looks good so I may give these a try.
Coincidentally, I love peanut butter and have tried the peanut butter protein balls mentioned above and they are very good. Wouldn't use them pre-contest, but any other time I would. On a side note....a friend turned me on to this site...I'm interested in nutritional supplements, is this a good site to find good deals on these types of products? |

I've ordered several times from Nutraplanet and they have the best customer service of any of the other online supplement retailers out there. My friend is a manager at a local GNC and he even gets his supplements from NP because they have deals that are cheaper than his employee discount. Top notch company...you won't go wrong.

Just placed an order for 2 cases of vanilla. Coupon code took off the shipping and total came out to $59.98 as advertised (screen shot below).
For those who don't know, these are priced below wholesale. My buddy just confirmed that wholesale for the Syntha 6 RTD's are $35.02 and retailed for as high as $50 at his store for 1 case. Great deal....thanks OP! Last edited by PhDesign; 02-27-2010 at 09:41 AM.. |
If anyone is still wanting some of that $25 dymatize protein they had on sale a few weeks ago, call up and speak to a CS rep (numbers on the site). They still have some left over that they will sell at that price. I picked up a few the other day @$25 a pop (for the 5 pound elite gourmet whey protein). It just got here today. |

I always call and speak to someone on the phone when ordering from Nutraplanet, and if the product isnt already on a discount, they will normally come down on the price. You can also ask them to throw in some samples free of charge, even a shaker bottle. Ive gotten about 50 samples and 3 or 4 shaker bottles from them. This is my favorite supplement site now. They will even ship out your order same day (depending on whom you speak to) when you place the order over the phone, instead of it getting placed on the bottom of the queue when you order online. |

I dont think 1/2 per day is accurate, I would say 1/2 per sitting maybe... its just a protein shake, and they aren't very high in fat considering the protein amount. |

Thanks, good deal, in for 2. I like drinking these for breakfast while cutting. Taste may be subjective, but I find Syntha 6 to be some of the best tasting Protein out there.
