Mossberg 500 'Security' or 'Combo' Shotgun $279 + tax at Big 5

Big 5 [shoplocal.com] has two deals on Mossberg 500 shotguns:

*Security (50577) - Specs [mossberg.com]

*Combo (54169) - Specs [mossberg.com]

Next best price I could find was $304 at Buds, but that doesn't include shipping or the $20-$40 transfer fee charged by your local shop.

Neither model comes with a pistol grip, but those can be had for $20 if you really want one.

I haven't seen them much cheaper than this in the last 5 years. Yes, Remi's are nice too. I don't want to hear about how much better they are.
This deal is for those looking specifically for a Mossberg.

Too true, but the Mossberg 500 is a great Shotgun.
Love the combo; long barrel for the range, short for the home.

Alternatively, for those of us who don't have a Big 5 nearby, you can essentially create your own "combo" 54169 deal by getting your 500 w/ 28" barrel from Walmart for $217... then pick up an 18" barrel from Dick's for $80.

It does work out to be about $20 more expensive than the Big 5 combo, but you do get wood furniture this way. Also, anyone with an Academy nearby can usually pick up some GREAT deals on these home defense weapons.
