Seems like a good deal, I know I buy the cheap brands sometimes and 1 box is usually around $5

how does this taste compared to the non-quick and easy?

I find with rolled oats I like the standard but not the quick and easy

This is good oatmeal. Whole Foods sells cut oats for about $2 a lb, tastes just as good IMHO. I'll never go back to rolled oats. McCann's is about $6 a can at local supermarkets, when I can find it.

BTW: I cook bulk cut oats/McCann's in the microwave. 1 part oats 4 parts water, plus salt to taste.

1 minute high, then 20 mins 20% power for an 1100 watt m'wave. Open and stir at about 10 mins.

Stir when done then let sit about 10 mins.

Mmm... Mmm... good!

Thummmms up + 4 reps!

My comment above was in regards to the standard can of oats, not the instant. Definitely some killer oats.

Ya steel cut is the way to go for sure, I could never go back to rolled now. I've been getting it in bulk at safeway and it's been just fine, curious if this stuff is any better. I cook in my Zohirushi rice cooker on the porridge setting, it's perfect and I can even put it on a timer so it's ready when I wake up.
