Someone redeemed my staples rewards $$$.....any suggestions?

So I went to redeem a $30 staples rewards code.....and someone redeemed it already for me! I live in Michigan, and someone bought a canon digital camera with it in Newport Beach, CA! Staples is refusing to reissue any rewards for any reason. Any suggestions?

They should change their system, and their zero tolerance policy on reissuing rewards. Also, gift cards are not able to be used on staples.com Thought Staples was a good place to shop but I'm starting to wonder....

They purchased something at local store in queens, New York. Staples refused to do anything. CSR just confirmed, anyone can use the coupons if he has the code.

Don't rule out the coupon generators. They dig up tons of codes thru online scripts, and all of those codes were intended for other people.

Look,,, it's not rocket science, (and I will NOT tell everyone here how the Staples bar code number is generated, so that theives will steal others Staples ink rewards credits.) But it's based upon your customer number. THIS IS SO EASY TO HACK THE BAR CODE NUMBERS - thus use other people Staples credits. ---the only way around this is to use your Staples rewards as soon as they are issued. But that's not a 100% assurance eiether.

I would suggest the following:
Sign up for a new Staples customer number. (Hacked once, and it will hacked again.)
Then sign up for email delivery of your staples rewards.
Use your rewards soon after they are emailed to you.
Do NOT use the old Staples customer number again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Office Max bar code number is NOT based upon the customer number. So theives have more problems hacking they system.

Thieves used it in a Philly retail store and I'm in SoCal!!! WTF? Just a question though: did they hack INTO the staples rewards account (i.e. steal the account password and log in as me) or they got my account number in some way and took it from there?

My dad and bro's rewards were redeemed. This is becoming frustrating. Staples blames the victims. There are may be two or three sellers of rewards on Ebay. I don't understand why Staples isn't shutting them down.
