Starbucks - Buy 4 bags for the price of 3, Plus get $10 gift Card YMMV

I got this mail in offer in my newspaper today. Buy 4 overpriced bags of java from a grocery store and then mail in the attached form and cash register receipts. Then they'll send you a $10 gift card to use at a Starbucks. The details are on the attached jpegs.

Personally I prefer Peets, but maybe some fellow caffeine addicted SDer can use this.

EDIT: Read the thread for potential deal sweetner with a $10 off of $40 coupon for Staples. Apparently you can buy Starbucks bags of coffee there too. So essentially you can buy 4 bags there for the price of 3, then get the $10 GC as well. YMMV on that, but pretty slick. Thanks Hannibal.

Well... if somebody was morally alright doing this... since the proof of purchase is just sending the receipt, and not cutting a UPC code, you could purchase the coffee, mail off the receipt, promptly return the coffee... I am just saying!

Agreed, it's cheaper at starbucks and fresher. I'll take a look at this deal at the grocery store though since it might be worthwhile with the rebate.
OP, what newspaper did you find the ad in?

If anyone is buying the jumbo bags (40oz) at wholesale clubs take a look at the date on the bag. Last time I was at BJ's they were selling year old coffee, yuch!

Wow, that doesn't like an "either/or" to me. It sounds like you can do both! Buy the bags at Staples and then get the $10 GC as well. That's a double Slick deal!

The money back offer specifically states 12 oz. product, which is ground, versus the 16 oz. whole bean product, which is what I mentioned. It SHOULD not work. That said, Staples HAS ground 12 oz. packages as well. If that works for you, great, but it seems sort of a waste of time to get Starbucks ground, might as well get freeze-dried Folgers. OP probably should post this deal scenario to make it sweeter for those who desire it.
