Yes, 5870 is better than GTX470 in most circumstances.

A great deal for those that don't live in California. Lukewarm otherwise.

If it's not so close to Black Friday, people would be going crazy over it.

I suppose it would not be worth the upgrade to 2GB?

hold onto your money. the faster 6 series cards are coming soon, which i suspect is part of the reason why newegg is pushing the 5850 and 5870 towards the exit door. if you have $300-400 to spend might as well wait a few weeks. if you have $250 i'd jump on this. either the upgrade to 2GB wouldnt be worth it unless it was much cheaper.

Great price but I wish it was a reference design so I could buy the Koolance Water block that's on closeout for 5850/5870 reference cards for $69.95 (reg 99.99) Its pays never to be early adopter. http://www.koolance.com/water-coo...uct_id=926

yeah this is a hot deal if you NEED a video card now. I would wait since the 69x0 series coming soon (end of this month). I suspect they will be on 40nm which means not much power saving, but it will definitely be faster than the 5870. Hopefully by then these 5870 will drop further (220-250) AR range.

Cool. I'll wait a bit and then pickup another 5850 for under $200 (or less) to CrossFireX with my existing 5850.
