This is one of the first MS ergo keyboards since the original, which has a full standard T set of arrow keys, a full standard number pad, a full standard pagedown/pageup/insert/delete block of keys, a properly placed large backspace, etc. Every MS ergo keyboard between the original and this one have those things changed to weird configurations.

The zoom slider can be changed to do scroll up/scroll down. No drivers needed. All those silver buttons at the top can be ignored, but the calculator, and speaker controls can come in handy.
If you want the standard F key functions instead of the weird things MS thinks you need happening on the F keys, hit the "F. Lock" key above the backspace. From then on, the keyboard will remember this setting between boots and give you standard F key functions.

Note, IMHO the one drawback of this keyboard is the lack of a windows key on the right hand side of the spacebar.

Another thing to consider is the letters wear off fairly rapidly. They are just stickers and with regular use they will wear off in about 4-6 months on the heavily used keys. My wife has went through 3 of these over the past 2 years, and I am trying a different brand, a Fellowes 98915.

Love the design, but I have gone through two boards and letters start wearing off in 6 months. Fixed both with keyboard label stickers. Only use labels with letter printed under lexan or the stickers will wear off too.
