I have been looking for prices to drop on the 32gb microSDHC cards. Today I found the Kingston Class 4 card w/ adapter for an unheard of $34.99 with free shipping (at least to my zip code) from ipatchup.com. Never heard of this place and the price seems too good to be true. Lowest price elsewhere is about $90. Might be a fake, but I'm in for one and will report back what I get!

P.S. this is my first deal post here, so be kind.

Good price. Took a chance, and ordered 2 with free ship and no tax.
Checkout through google, so there's one layer of protection hopefully.

Yeah, they'll ask you "did you receive the cards". You will say "yes, but..." They will say "case closed."

I haven't seen a more obvious case of sucker bait this week...a

"Might be fake..." More like "No chance not fake..."

I was referring to a different layer of protection. At least this way my CC info is hidden from the ipatchup website, making it less likely I'll have my CC info stolen. I agree that Google checkout won't help me much if the cards arrive but don't work.

If cards are fake, I'll just initiate dispute through American Express. I need a card for my Evo 4G phone. At this price, it's worth a shot to me.

the card itself could be fake too as the fat table can be altered to report much larger capacity.

If the cards are "fake" then technically you never received the item you ordered and paid for (i.e. a Kingston brand memory card). If the merchant ships a different product than the one described, then you have no obligation to accept the non-conforming goods. Pop it back in the mail with delivery confirmation and inform your credit card.

Also, the website appears to operate an ebay store with several years worth of 100% feedback. Not positive, though. Search for lalovelyy

Even that can be an uphill climb. I can tell you from personal experience that the "counterfeit/fake" argument can be quite difficult to make with credit cards/PayPal. Item not received is easy. But item received, but fake, is not.

Given the incredibly high chance these are fake, unless your time is worthless, I wouldn't do it...

And even if you can convince your CC/PayPal to force the seller to take it back, you are usually on the hook for return shipping.

Why bother?

What do people mean by "fake?" Do you mean it's actually a different brand card? or a different capacity? It's not like there are many other manufacturers of microSDHC cards at this capacity.

Mislabeled capacity and/or defective cards relabeled and/or poor quality cards with a fake brand on them.

Trust me: You do not want to hassle with a fake card...

About us page? Nope. Business address on page? Nope. Return policy? No returns. Legit?

To test the card for fake FAT tables, can't I just copy 30+gb of mkv (movie) files onto the card, and check that I can open and read each one? Seems like a pretty simple check to me, assuming the cards arrive.

*fingers crossed* Smilie
