You didn't get a copy of XP with your system? Well, you got screwed. On a serious note, you got screwed and i have no idea how to do it without and XP disc.

Check tech support.. but i have dells for PC's and there is no such option on mine.

wakeboarder86 L10: Grand Master Member sinceDec 2003 Posts9,139 Reputation 537	how old is the computer? the newer computers have something called PC restore which brings your computer back to the way you got it from dell. before the "dell" screen boots up, hit ALT and then F11. THat will bring you to the PC restore, it will erase everything and bring you back to exactly how the computer was when it was shipepd from Dell. I did this a few weeks ago.

Yep the newer dells come with PC restore...but i think you have to hold down "CTRL F11" when you see the small blue bar at the top of the screen with Dell in it when you restart.

This will reset your computer to the when you got it from dell...with all the "extras". Anyone know how to do a "clean" install if you have the CDs without having to re-register windows?

You can tell them to send you one for shipping charges, or you can dl one,(preferably the same version). Note:this is not an illigal action because you are using your own CD key

can't complain to Dell - it's an option when you buy the PCs. It's an extra $10 to request a real CD so I really doubt they'll send one for free
