I've had one for a few months now, it survives a computer challenged spouse and three kids (ages 8 to 16) who use it alot and I've had no problems. I even used it at work for several days when my "superior" Insp 5100 was down for repairs. I've been pretty happy with it. I bought it through Dell Outlet for about 200.00 less than new right after they came out.

They're rather bulky compared to the high-end smaller models but perform pretty decent for the money. Many of the features will depend on how you customize yours. |

I bought the 1100 (the pre 1150 model) about 13 mo ago. It works great. Very reliable, I leave it in sleep mode all the time, so it has been running almost constantly. Battery life is good, durability is good, etc. my main compliants are only how I configured mine, I shoulda gotten a better LCD and definitely should have gotten the P4 above the celeron. But then again, I paid 625 for mine so who am I to complain.

I have the 1100... it's not bad.
I got the p4 and 640ram (512+128) so it runs pretty well. the ethernet jack broke though... it only works if a wedge the cord up. if I just plug it in it won't connect correctly. Dell said it was the ISP giving me a bad connection. they wouldn't replace my laptop. or do anything for me. luckily I have wireless. best comp for the $ though. |
