Since this model has a defective bulb, does anyone know if this refurbished model have the newer longer lasting bulb. Most of the internet info says original bulb only lasted 4 to 6 months and abut 3 to five days delivery. Also how many bulbs does that extended warranty cover?Smilie Smilie

The "bulb-only" warranty covers 2 bulbs, the other warranties don't cover bulbs at all.

I have the 52" model. Paid $2400 for it,
I have had it for about 27 months.
My bulb lasted 24" months on the High bright setting with heavy usage.
A new bulb cost me $200 to the door and it took about 2 minutes to change.
I love the performance and if it costs a $100 a year for bulb use it doesn't bother me. I have 4 Toshibas TV's in the house and have been very happy with their products.

Add.... I recieved the new bulb in one business day. There where some supply problems but many months ago.

Yeah, mine shipped with a bad bulb,,,but still well worth getting a 56' DLP 1080p for $950...and even got the shipping free. They are sending out a new bulb though...

Ok...another update....after playing with it for a while it seems that THIS ONE does NOT accept 1080p direct signals. The only thing I tried to connect is my PS3 and it didn't show unless I put the setting on 1080i. I haven't seen if the 1080p mode has to be "activated" or anything but as of now...NO 1080p...:-(.....

Otherwise, IT IS GREAT....Clear picture....Internal HDTV tuner....Two HDMI, TWO component, and TWO dvi inputs..... Optical out.... AND....you can recieve HDTV signals (720p, 1080i) through your direct cable TV connection, thorough ANT1 and ANT2 inputs WITHOUT an HDTV box from your cable company.

For the value this is a GREAT TV, even though I had to wait a month and a half for it to be full functional... For $1150(Delivered), I got this TV and a 5- year protection plan....

Faults...NO 1080p(the instructions says it can) signal input and the FAN can get a little loud when you're close to the TV. Also, the fan seems like it runs all the time and hardly ever cuts off, if at all...

FINALLY, it's over....

Update...The TV has been running like a champ every since Toshiba sent me the replacement. No problems AT ALL. I guess that initial one that I got was just a bad one... The picture still looks great and the buld has not blown out and I run this TV every day for many hours. The 1080i upscale looks JUST LIKE 1080p. This TV has a great picture...
