OK, I hate to say this, but DROP ANOTHER DISK IN THERE.
It's not like none of us have seen a coaster right out of the stack. Now if EVERY disk you drop in there responds the same way, we have a problem to solve. Then we can ask things like "what burning software are you using ? is DMA on or off ? Why are you using Roxio, use Nero. Can you read from a factory disk ? Is you drive only a reader, not a writer ?" You get the picture. |

Also, if they seriously are "Maxwell" brand, you might just have some terrible knock-offs. The real brand is Maxell.

Reinstall the drivers and see if that helps........Otherwise, it might just be going out. It happens.
Optical Drives [newegg.com] are cheap to replace. How old is the drive? What brand is it? |
