How big would it have to be and what kind of bungee cords would I need to launch something, oh, say 200lbs at least 50'? That way they at least end up across the street.

I agree, it is cruel to use on animals. That is why I want one large enough to use on people. No one seems to have an issue when people are the victim.

It would need to be modified though - to lauch the maximum distance the catapult should be set to launch @ a 45 degree angle, and I think some good bungee cords would do a better job
