After only 3 months -- my rebate check for this printer was finally mailed on 10/24.

For all of those who doubted that the rebate would be honored -- well it was.

UPDATE - Got the same cancellation e-mail -- called, -- got a CSR that basically said NO -- sent them the original Quill email with code -- they told me back ordered till end of June -- but miraculously -- they have one in Oregon - that will be shipped and arrive by early next week.

Not sure what is up with Quill -- but anyone who is an existing customer -- even if you placed an order previously and it was canceled -- call and raise hell -- it might work.

With Quill now saying: "$50 Instant Savings on HP LaserJet 1018 Mono Laser Printer — Now Only $79.98! No further rebates or discounts apply" on their web site, it is possible that the rebate center will filter rebates based on the purchase date and time.

For SDers who didn't get their orders from Quill but still want this printer, A Matter of Fax (thread HERE) seems to be a good deal still. With their price now at $88.88, they do not mention anything about the "No further rebates or discount" crap. You should be able to get $88.88 - $64.50 MIR = $24.38.

Just trying to help so people won't miss out the saving.

According to the rebate, HP reserves the right to refuse the rebate. It might not be honored due to coupon usage/less than the full retail price.
