"Ultra Jon" - an Ultra worker that posts on their forums - has made many posts regarding this issue, stating that they are working on getting their factory problems corrected and fixing the speed problem. They have admitted that there was/is a problem at their factory. so the low speeds are not just because of a problem on a single computer. Apparently they've fixed the problem but you may or may not get one of these new drives. I really don't know what is going on at Ultra with these drives. I've owned it for six months and there have been no resolutions to the RB/speed issue. The drive simply does not "Fly".

Bottom Line: For FAR, it is an okay drive. Nothing to really jump blindly on, but good nonetheless. Personally, having owned one of these, even at FAR I will pass. There are better deals to be had, for faster, properly made drives.

Can't get much better than free. I'm not a big fan of rebates, but I'll give this a try. Thumbs up. Repped.

One thing I am curious about. How are Ultra Rebates? I see you can check status at www.rebate-zone.com/ultra online, however I have no experience with them. Anyone have any experiences to share?
